Configure SMTP for outbound emails

To configure outbound email, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the “Settings -> E-Mail” menu or browse to http://SERVER-IP/reviewboard/admin/settings/email/.

  • Set the values for your SMTP server. Here is an example using Gmail:

    • Sender email address:
    • Mail server:
    • Port: 587
    • Username:
    • Password: PASSWORD
    • Use TLS for authentication: Yes

  • Configure the “Server” parameter with the correct domain name in the “Settings -> General” menu.

To configure the application to use other third-party SMTP services for outgoing email, such as SendGrid or Mandrill, refer to the FAQ.
