Use Bitnami Cloud Tools for Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Introduction

The Bitnami Cloud Tools for AWS is a set of tools packaged together with preconfigured Python language runtime to work out of the box. To use them, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Add AWS credentials

Assuming you already have an AWS account, the next step after installation is to add your AWS credentials. Follow these steps:

  • Add the “AWS Access Key ID” and “AWS Secret Access Key” to the installdir/config/aws-credentials.txt and installdir/config/aws-config.txt files respectively.

  • Copy the AWS PEM-encoded X.509 certificate to the installdir/config/ec2.crt file.

  • Copy the AWS private key file to the installdir/config/ec2.key file.

  • On Linux and Mac OS X systems, ensure that all the above files are readable only by the owner:

    $ chmod 600 installdir/config/*

Step 2: Load the environment

Linux and Mac OS X

Execute the aws-shell.sh script from the installation directory, as shown below:

$ ./aws-shell.sh

Windows

Execute the aws-cmd.bat script from the installation directory, as shown below:

$ aws-cmd.bat

Step 3: Execute commands
