Install plugins

Before running the commands shown on this page, you should load the Bitnami stack environment by executing the installdir/use_APPNAME script (Linux and MacOS) or by clicking the shortcut in the Start Menu under “Start -> Bitnami APPNAME Stack -> Application console” (Windows). On OS X VMs, the installation directory is /opt/bitnami and OS X VM users can click the “Open Terminal” button to run commands. Learn more about the Bitnami stack environment and about OS X VMs.

You can follow the official Moodle(TM) LMS documentation. Below you can find relevant information about the Bitnami configuration.

Using the Web interface

Since Moodle LMS 2.5, you can install any plugin from the Moodle LMS administration panel. With the native installer, this method is available if you select “development” mode during the installation.

Using a manual upload

With this method, you need to copy and uncompress the plugin to the server file system in the correct directory. You can check that the module has been correctly installed in the “Settings -> Site administration -> Notifications” menu (as the Moodle LMS admin user). With the native installer, this method is available if you select “production” mode during the installation.
