  • Browse to the Bitnami Cloud Hosting dashboard and sign in if required using your Bitnami account.

  • Select the “Servers” menu item.

  • Select your cloud server from the resulting list.

  • Click the “Manage” button.

  • On the resulting page, navigate to the “Backups” tab in the lower panel, and click the “Create Backup” button.

Backups are incremental snapshots of your server and the process takes seconds.

Restore

Restore an instance backup from the Bitnami Cloud Hosting dashboard by following these steps:

  • Browse to the Bitnami Cloud Hosting dashboard and sign in if required using your Bitnami account.

  • Select the “Backups” menu item.

  • On the resulting page, select the backup you wish to restore.

  • Click the “Restore” button.

    Server restore

  • Specify the configuration parameters for the new server and click “Restore”.

If you are migrating to a new server from an old one and the older server had a static IP address, perform these additional steps:

  • After confirming that everything works well on the new server, select the original server in the Bitnami Cloud Hosting dashboard and click the “Assign IP” button. Change the IP to be a “Dynamic IP”. This will release the existing IP address for use elsewhere.

    Server restore

  • Select the new server and click its “Assign IP” button. Select the released static IP address for the new server.

    Server restore

  • Stop (and optionally, delete) the original server.

The restored server should now be accessible at the same IP address as the original server.
