Start or stop virtual machines in a Multi-Tier Solution

NOTE: This section assumes that you have already deployed a Bitnami Multi-Tier Solution in the Microsoft Azure Cloud.

To control your cluster virtual machines individually you can use the Azure management portal just by selecting the virtual machine in which you want to perform the action.

Follow the steps below to start, restart or stop each virtual machine of the cluster:

  • Log in to the Microsoft Azure Portal

  • In the left navigation bar, go to the “Resource groups” menu.

  • Select the Resource Group which your application is located in.

  • Click the virtual machine you want to manage.

  • In the top-right menu, select whether to start (not available if the virtual machine is running), restart or stop the virtual machine.

Repeat this procedure in each virtual machine to manage them separately.
