Understand the default Kong cluster configuration

The Bitnami Multi-Tier Solution for Kong uses multiple VMs, consisting of a cluster of one or more Kong nodes to provide a horizontally scalable Kong cluster. The data is stored in a Cassandra cluster. The cluster is configured as follows:

  • Cassandra instances: They are configured in the cluster and running on nodes independently from Kong.
  • Disk: Each Kong node have a 30GB SSD disk attached (default, configurable).
  • Authentication: The only component with authentication is Cassandra, which is used by the Kong nodes to store data.
